A student from Ralston High School was arrested Thursday in connection with a hoax that triggered a lockdown at the school Wednesday.
Just before 12:30 p.m., Ralston police were dispatched to the high school on a report of an armed person inside the building. Omaha police officers and deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
After establishing a perimeter around the school and searching the building, officers confirmed that the 911 caller had fabricated the story, and the lockdown was lifted. According to Ralston police, the caller was a juvenile male student.
The student was booked into the Douglas County Youth Detention Center on suspicion of making terroristic threats.
