Sinoville police have warned of a hoax SMS that has been doing the rounds.
The fake SMS reads: “A case has been opened against you @SAPS, for more info please contact Capt Sithole on 0603646383.”
Sinoville station commander Colonel Maria Roberts said several people had reported receiving the SMS.
“The South African Police Service would not send out messages to this effect,” she said.
“We ask that people ignore this message and report possible scams to their nearest police station.”
