CORONATION Street star Malcolm Hebden has become the victim of a sick death hoax.
A fake news website reported the death of the 78-year-old actor - who plays Norris Cole in the ITV soap.

The sick hoax forced his co-star Sally Ann Matthews to step in and confirm the report was fake on Twitter. She told a worried fan the news was "thankfully not" true.
It comes six years after the actor suffered a previous health scare.
Back in 2012, Hebden fell ill at the Corrie studios in Manchester and was checked over by onset medical staff before being sent to A&E for tests.

He left in 1997, but returned to the role two years later for his current stint in the show.
The character was part of a major storyline last year when fans saw him tie the knot with his longtime pal Mary Taylor.
But it turned out Norris had won a competition for a dream wedding with a honeymoon prize in Cape Town and he wanted to give the holiday to Mary so she could see her son.
