The 48th anniversary of Neil Armstrong's first steps on the lunar surface took place last month, but many conspiracy theorists across the globe remain convinced it was the biggest cover up of all time.
Moon hoax conspiracy theorists say a desperate President John F Kennedy, who wanted to beat the Russians in the space race to the moon, ordered the production of a series of films in top-secret studios to make it look like Nasa astronauts made it to the lunar surface.
Various conspiracy theorists have highlighted so-called anomalies in NASA images of the Apollo missions and concluded they must have been taken in a studio.
There is also a raging debate about whether the astronauts could have survived travelling through the radioactive Van Allennbelt between Earth and the moon, but there has been no definitive answer.
Now, one paranormal believer claims he could solve the mystery by travelling to the moon during an out of body experience.
Todd Acamesis says the soul can leave the body and go on a journey even while you are alive.
The Canadian, 47, claims he has been having out of body experiences" (OBEs) for 42 years, since a near death experience at the age of five.
He claims once his spirit leaves his body it can travel through space and time and he can even be guided to places by unknown forces.
Mr Acamesis made the astonishing claims during a panel debate on whether the moon landings were hoaxed at the 27th Glastonbury Symposium.
Top moon hoax conspiracy theorist Marcus Allen, who is the UK publisher of the alternative news magazine Nexus, had just laid down a challenge for NASA to prove it went to the moon.
Mr Acamesis then suggested he may be able to travel to the moon during an out of body experience to see what, if any evidence, such as lunar landing sites had been left up there.
This, he said should prove once and for all if the Apollo missions were real, he claimed.
He said: "You could go to the moon out of your body. Some people believe we went and others disbelieve."
But he does not seem to have cracked the technique just yet, as he said he had been there during an out of body experience but had seen it at different layers of time, which meant it may not have been after the landings.
He also said he had tried to get external forces to take him there, but had been shown not quite what he was after.
One of his recollections may excite conspiracy theorists who believe it was all faked in a studio.
Mr Acamesis said: "One time I asked to go to the moon and was taken somewhere to a warehouse on another level of reality.
"I was shown a model of the moon in realtime and told point blank this is as close we want you to go."
Another session was equally bizarre.
He said: "I wanted to go to the moon and was shown a photo of the moon on a wall."
But he believes if he continues trying he will ultimately "have a better chance of identifying if we have been to the moon or not."
The jury is still out on whether an OBE is real or just perceived, and there is no hard scientific proof, but apparently we can all do it relatively easily, according to MrAcamesis.
An OBE is the feeling that you are floating outside or above your body.
Some experiencers even claim to have seen their own body externally while experiencing an OBE.
It is also said to be what happens during a near death experience when believers think the "soul" is about to leave the body for good.
