A man has appeared in court today charged with making a bomb hoax.
Zak Babar, of no fixed abode, was accused of committing the offence in Gloucester city centre on Saturday.
Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court heard that it was alleged that Babar communicated to members of the public and to a police officer that a bomb was present in King’s Square and King’s Walk.

The balding 49-year-old, who wore a grey T-shirt and spoke quietly only to confirm his name, age and residential status, did not enter a plea.
During the short hearing, when he was asked to stand he crouched down in the dock and did not look into the court.
Magistrates adjourned the case until September 29 at Gloucester Crown Court.
There was no application for bail and Babar was remanded in custody.
A Gloucestershire Police spokesman said: "No device was found and the incident is not believed to be terrorism related."
