ALTON, Ill. (WRSP) —
Alton Police are calling Ku Klux Klan flyers put up at the restaurant Fast Eddie’s Fried Chicken a hoax.
Fast Eddie’s owner received several threats since a post of the flyers went viral on Facebook.
Police believed the business was targeted.
The flyer urge people to join the KKK.
Alton’s mayor says it's not fair to the owner and Fast Eddie's employees, who had no part of the hoax.
“I feel bad for that business owner,” Mayor Brant Walker said, “who worked diligently up there every day.”
“To have to suffer maybe consequences to her livelihood, for employees and for someone to mark our city in this manner it’s just not right, it`s inappropriate.”
Alton police are still investigating who's responsible.
