GLEN ROCK – A suspicious phone call this morning alluding to a possible threat against a school or active public building was determined to be a hoax, police said.
The phone call came in to dispatch at 9:19 a.m. on the non-emergency Glen Rock Police phone line. The location of the call couldn't be determined at the time.
The threat was not specific and the credibility could not be determined, Chief of Police Dean Ackermann said.
"Out of an abundance of caution, a thorough check was conducted of all public and private schools in Glen Rock as well as all other municipal facilities," Ackerman said.
No hazard of any nature was found. The origin of the call is under investigation by Detective James Calaski.
Additional assistance in the investigation was provided by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit, Ridgewood Police and the buildings and grounds staff of the Glen Rock Public School.
