Sandwich Police Field Alarming Hoax Calls - CapeNews.net

Sandwich police responded to two alarming calls on Hoxie Lane last week, only to find that they were hoaxes.

On Sunday, July 9, at 9:50 PM, police received a call that came back to Hoxie Lane reporting that the caller’s mother had shot the caller’s father and that the father was dead on the floor.

The second call came on Monday, July 10, also on Hoxie Lane. The caller made the same claim as the previous night.

Both nights police used caller identification software to respond to the home where the call apparently originated to find that no one had actually been shot. Police said that they believe the calls were made using a phone app that masks the caller’s real phone number.
