Gov. Jerry Brown was in New York on Monday, where he spoke at the United Nations about climate change.
The California governor said they need to rally willing power centers -- political leaders, corporations, etc. -- to move "the ball forward."
"And we are raising awareness and reducing greenhouse gasses. That's the America Pledge," he said.
During his comments, Brown said President Donald Trump believes climate change is a hoax.
"He believes this whole thing that we're talking about -- when all the scientists are publishing thousands of papers -- is all a hoax, and it's a hoax invented in China," Brown said. "He believes that. Now, that is so obviously refutable that I think he's made the proposition as weak as he possibly can, and the America's Pledge is committed to refuting that nonsensical idea, and we're doing it in a way that's practical."
