Bomb hoax, Frankfurt airport evacuated - The Australian

A 37-year-old man caused a partial evacuation of Germany's Frankurt Airport on Saturday evening after telling police that he had explosives in his baggage.

The incident saw part of the airport's Terminal 1, as well as a connecting area to a high-speed train station, cleared for 90 minutes, police said in a statement.

Federal police arrested the man and investigated his baggage, which contained computer parts and a gas canister.

He has reportedly been involved in similar incidents in the past and is now being admitted to a psychiatric clinic.

Travellers were in no danger at any time during the incident, police said.
