Officials from the bomb squad and the fire department were rushed to the spot. A Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team has also been sent to the court premises in central Delhi's Sher Shah Road.
A search is underway in the court premises. While the call has been traced to a number in western Uttar Pradesh, police are trying to trace the person who called the PCR from north east Delhi's Bhajanpura. The phone has been switched off since the call was made.
In September 2011, a blast outside a gate of the Delhi High Court killed 11 people and injured over 80.
Security was heightened in the capital earlier this week ahead of Independence Day with nearly 70,000 police personnel on duty.
